About Us
Our History.
Nooitgedacht Akademie reopened its doors in 2020 under the leadership of Mrs. Q. de Vries, who became the first principal after its revival. The school began humbly with only nine learners and three teachers, yet from the very beginning the vision was clear: to create a place of respect, discipline, and opportunity, where every child’s unique potential could be recognized and nurtured.
Between 2020 and 2024, Nooitgedacht Akademie catered for learners from Grade R to Grade 12. At the end of 2024, a new chapter began when Mrs Q De Vries stepped down and a new board of directors took leadership of the school. By 2025, the school had grown to 25 learners, and the decision was made to temporarily accommodate only Grade R to Grade 9, with the goal of reinstating the higher grades in the future.
“When the school reopened in 2020, it was often described as a small seed planted in dry soil. Growth required time, care, and trust. Today, that seed has sprouted into a young tree – still small, but strong, with roots stretching deeper every year. This tree has become a symbol of Nooitgedacht Akademie: slowly but surely growing, with the promise of one day offering shade and fruit to generations yet to come.”

OUR BADGE.
Our badge is shaped by an orange crescent, symbolising new beginnings, growth, and the promise of a brighter future. At its centre lies an open book, from which sun rays shine outward – a reminder that knowledge is light, guiding every learner on their journey.
Behind the book rise two vines, representing continuous growth, resilience, and the nurturing environment of Nooitgedacht Akademie.
Beneath the crescent appear the words Faith, Hope, Love – values that are not tied to any single belief system, but reflect the universal principles of trust, resilience, and care for one another.
At the foundation of the badge is our guiding truth: “Knowledge is our compass.” This reminds us that education is the tool that points the way forward and empowers us to navigate life’s journey.
